According to a recent report, Land Rover will introduce a new Defender concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The production model could be built on a new platform that can easily accommodate a variety of wheelbases and configurations. The other option would involve using a modified version of the LR4's platform, but it remains unclear which direction the company will take.

Unfortunately, Land Rover might have to position the Defender as a premium vehicle to make production cost effective. As such, Inside Line says the company needs to sell 60,000-80,000 units annually to make it profitable.
