Mercedes has quietly dropped the SL65 AMG.

The move follows the death of the SL600 and is part of the lead up for the redesigned model. For nostalgia's sake, the twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 engine produced 612 PS (450 kW / 604 hp) and 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft) of torque.

It remains unclear if Mercedes will eventually end V12 production altogether, but previous reports have suggested that possibility.  It's just speculation at this point, but increasing standards for fuel-efficiency and CO2 emissions are cause for concern.
