Chevrolet has confirmed plans to offer a diesel engine in the 2013 Cruze (U.S.-spec).

The company provided little details, but said the move would "bolster the already fuel-efficient Cruze lineup." Regardless, previous reports have indicated the model will likely receive the 2.0-liter unit from the Holden Cruze CDX. If that turns out to be correct, we can expect an output of 148 hp (110 kW / 150 PS) and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm) of torque.
