The Cadillac flagship is inching closer to production as a new report is indicating the model has been green-lighted.

GMI says the car will ride on the new Omega platform that is loosely based on the Zeta architecture. Despite the Aussie roots, the chassis will reportedly be advanced and feature lightweight materials such as aluminum.

A launch date hasn't been set, but sources suggest the model could hit the streets between 2015 and 2017.
