According to a recent report, Hyundai is developing a supercar to battle the Nissan GT-R and Porsche 911.
Inside Line says the model would cost between $80,000 and $100,000 and use the new 5.0-liter V8 from the Genesis R-Spec. It remains unclear if the engine would be front or mid-mounted, but it wouldn't be surprising if Hyundai would retune it to produce upwards of 429 hp (320 kW / 435 PS) and 376 lb-ft (509 Nm) of torque.
When asked about the rumors, Hyundai Motor America CEO John Krafcik denied everything and chalked it up to "scurrilous nonsense." Regardless, would you consider a Hyundai supercar if one was offered?
