With the Frankfurt Motor Show just around the corner, new details are starting to emerge about the 2012 Mercedes B-Class.

According to Auto Express, the five-door model will be offered with a turbocharged 1.6-liter petrol engine that produces 123 hp (92 kW / 125 PS) and 154 hp (115 kW / 156 PS). Furthermore, we can expect a 1.8-liter diesel with 108 hp (81 kW / 110 PS) and 134 hp (100 kW / 136 PS). Additional engines will be added later on and there's also word of electric, fuel cell and hybrid models for 2013 and 2014. Of course, for more excitement, there will also be an AMG variant with all-wheel drive and a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that develops 320 hp (239 kW / 324 PS) to 350 hp (261 kW / 355 PS).

Lastly, the magazine says we can expect an eco-friendly version and a sport package with a quicker steering ratio, a reduced ride height and unique dampers.
