Although unconfirmed, according to fastestlaps.com the 2012 BMW M5 (F10) clocked a time of 7:55 giving it 70th place as the fastest production vehicle at the Nordschleife. With a BMW test driver listed as behind the wheel, this comes in at less than a second slower than the Ferrari 430 and faster than the Porsche 996 Turbo. More importantly, it crushed the 8:13 set by the previous generation M5 (E60).
