Citing the success of the F-Cell World Drive, Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche has announced plans to launch a mass-market fuel-cell vehicle (FCV) in 2014, a year earlier than planned.

Speaking at recent press event, Zetsche said "The product is ready for the market, technically. We have proven that by sending three vehicles with a fuel cell around the globe without any relevant problems." Without providing further details, Zetsche indicated the production vehicle would have a range of 250 miles (402 km).
