According to a recent report, Hyundai will introduce an Elantra coupe at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Details are limited, but Inside Line says the model will compete with the Honda Civic coupe and feature a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 148 hp (110 kW / 150 PS) and 131 lb-ft (177 Nm) of torque. In addition, there are rumors of an R-Spec variant which could adopt the turbocharged 1.6-liter engine from the 2012 Veloster. If this is correct, we can expect the Elantra R-Spec to have 208 hp (155 kW / 211 PS) and 265 Nm (195 lb-ft) of torque.

The L.A. Auto Show kicks off in November, so stay tuned for details.
