A 1963 Volkswagen Beetle, owned by actor and racer Paul Newman, is up for sale in Temecula, California.

Priced at $250,000 (€177,240), the unique convertible was modified by Indycar builder Jerry Eisert who installed a sport-tuned suspension and a mid-mounted Ford Windsor V8 engine that develops approximately 300 hp (224 kW / 304 PS).

After several years enjoying the car, Newman donated it to the Automotive Technology Department at Chaffey College for use in their racing program. When the school axed the program, Sam Contino bought the car and eventually restored to its current condition.
