Cadillac has announced plans to offer a new 3.6-liter V6 for the 2012 SRX.

Available later this summer, the range-topping engine is slated to produce 300 hp (224 kW / 304 PS) and 260 lb-ft (353 Nm) of torque. While this is lightly less than the outgoing 2.8-liter V6, it handily beats the entry-level 3.0-liter V6 that develops 265 hp (198 kW / 269 PS) and 223 lb-ft (302 Nm) of torque.

Besides the new engine, all 2012 SRXs will come equipped with Bluetooth connectivity. Additionally, a heated steering wheel and 20-inch alloy wheels have been added to the performance and premium trim levels.
