It is not often that a single model from a brand gets to celebrate its 50th anniversary, but 2008 sees the Chevrolet Impala turning fifty. A special edition has been issued to celebrate the momentous occasion, appropriately called the 2008 Impala 50th Anniversary Edition and will go on sale in spring.
The Impala 50th is based on the Impala LT with some added bonuses like 18-inch alloy wheels, two-tone leather interior, leather steering wheel, ebony carpet and floor mats, anniversary badges on the sill plates and C-pillar and the FE3 Sport Suspension. It will also include a one-year upgrade to OnStar Directions and Connections package.
Power comes from a 3.5 liter V6 producing 211 hp (154 kW) and 290 Nm of torque (214 lb.ft) and is compatible with E85 ethanol fuel and regular gasoline.
A short Impala history can be found in the press release.
