According to a recent report, the Fiat 500 Zagato coupe has been green-lighted for limited production.

Details are scarce, but Autoblog Spanish is reporting Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne confirmed the vehicle's status while making remarks about the Toluca Assembly Plant in Mexico. Marchionne declined to mention when the model will be introduced, but stated the car would be built in Europe.

Under the hood, engine options are expected to carryover from the standard 500. This means the primary offering will likely be the TwinAir two-cylinder that develops 65 PS (48 kW / 65 hp) to 105 PS (78 kW / 104 hp).
