Shocking news! Toyota still makes the Matrix and they were bored enough to give it a facelift. While that's a little harsh, the car was never a sales success and was widely expected to be axed following the death of its cousin - the Pontiac Vibe.
Regardless, the updated model features new bumpers, restyled wheels, and revised exterior color choices. Inside, changes are also minor but include a new instrument cluster, improved seats, and additional faux metallic trim.
Under the hood, two four-cylinder engines are available. The entry-level model features a 1.8-liter with 132 hp (98 kW / 134 PS) and 128 lb-ft (173 Nm) of torque, while the S has a 2.4-liter with 158 hp (118 kW / 160 PS) and 162 lb-ft (219 Nm). Both are connected to a five-speed manual, but a four-speed automatic is optional on the standard model while a five-speed automatic and all-wheel drive are offered on the Matrix S.
