According to a recent report, the Alfa Romeo 4C GTA concept will preview a production model that will be launched in late 2012.

Details are limited, but Automotive News has learned the car will be based on the KTM X-Bow and feature a turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with 250 hp (186 kW / 253 PS). More importantly, the 4C will have a "rakish, very compact" design that uses copious amounts of aluminum and carbon fiber. Thanks to these materials, the car will weigh approximately 850 kg (1,784 lbs) and have a power-to-weight ratio of 3.4 kg/hp.

Production will likely be limited to 25,000 units and pricing is expected to start at €40,000 ($55,000).
