According to a recent report, Volvo is developing an XC30 to battle the BMW X1, Audi Q3, and Mercedes BLK / GLC.
Details are limited, but AutoCar has learned the crossover will measure approximately 4350mm long which is just 280mm shorter than the XC60. Despite sounding large enough, there is speculation an extended-length model could be sold in China and the United States.
On the design front, we can expect traditional Volvo styling which will mimic the XC60. To help differentiate the models, the XC30 will have some added "dynamism" as well as a class-leading interior.
The crossover is slated to be launched in late 2013, so expect to learn more in the coming years.
