Unveiled in heavy snow in Germany, the new Dakar racer will undergo testing in France this week before heading to South America for the 33rd Personal Dakar Argentina-Chile next month (which runs Jan. 1 to Jan. 16).
The Monster Energy X-raid team has unveiled the new MINI ALL4 racing which will compete in the 2011 Dakar series.
Ironically trotted out in unusually heavy snow in Trebur, Germany, the MINI ALL4 will make its racing debut at the 33rd Personal Dakar Argentina-Chile next month (race runs Jan. 1 to Jan. 16).
The MINI ALL4 features a 3.0 liter twin-turbo diesel power plant tuned to 315 PS (232 kW) and 700 Nm of torque. The racer will undergo extensive testing in France on Monday and Tuesday (December 13 and 14) by team driver Guerlain Chicherit and his co-driver Michel Périn before being boxed up and shipped by air to South America for the its first rally run.
The MINI ALL4 project was completed in just 3 months.
