Five door sedan
Skoda today released a few more images of their new Skoda Superb together with some new info about their flagship model. Starting with the engine choice. There has been some talk about the 1.8 liter TFSI being a small entry-level engine, but it gets better. The actual entry level engine for the Passat-ish Skoda Superb is an all-new four-cylinder 1.4 liter TSI producing 92 kW / 123 hp. The other gasoline engines are a 1.8 liter TFSI (118 kW / 158 hp) and the brand new 3.6 liter FSI V6 (191 kW / 256 hp), the diesel option includes a 1.9 TDI PD DPF (77 kW / 103 hp), 2.0 TDI PD DPF (103 kW / 138 hp) and the all new 2.0 TDI CR DPF (125 kW / 168 hp).
More interestingly are the interior photo and the introduction of the Twindoor system to the Skoda Superb. Twindoor is a unique tailgate opening system which allows the trunk door to be opened either like a sedan, where only the boot lid opens, or like a hatchback where the rearwindow also tilts open for easy access. The attached image shows the sedan option outlined in green and the hatchback option in red. The trunk can hold 565 liters of luggage.
