Drag racer version of the Dodge Challenger features an 8.4 liter (514 cubic inches) V10 engine with a 2-speed transmission.
The Mopar 2011 Challenger Drag Pak is one for the track - and a straight one at that.
Mopar has seen fit to make another drag-racer out of the Dodge Challenger since the last two iterations, the 2009 and 2010, sold out completely.
Last Friday, at the Dodge Viper Owner's Invitational in Salt Lake City, Mopar introduced the 2011 model which features an 8.4 liter (514 cubic inches) V10 engine with a 2-speed transmission.
The car's fittings include drag-racer wheels and tires, Mopar solid rear axle with a performance gear ratio, integrated roll control for the gearbox, competition fuel system and fuel cell and an interior with gauge package.
For an additional $7,950, Mopar is also offering a Competition Package, with its very own part number P5155820, which includes an eight-point roll cage, six-point safety harness and a mesh window net.
A Mopar logo body wrap can be had for $950 while there are various specialty body colors to choose from for $6,800.
Mopar will make only 70 units of the 2011 Challenger Drag Pak and production is scheduled to begin early next year.
The Mopar 2011 Challenger Drag Pak will also make an appearance at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas in November.
Priced at $85,512, the 2011 Mopar Challenger Drag Pak will be available starting in early 2011 through local Dodge dealerships or at www.mopar.com.
