According to a recent report, Saab and BMW have reached an agreement to share engine technology.

Details are limited, but Bloomberg says the deal will give Saab access to BMW's upcoming 222 hp (166 kW / 225 PS) engine. It will apparently debut on the next-generation 9-3 and could be offered on the 9-5.

While the two have agreed to share that particular engine, they are still in talks about diesel technology and using a Mini platform for the 9-2.

A press conference is rumored for tomorrow, September 29th, so stay tuned for continuing coverage.
