New details are starting to emerge about the SSC Ultimate Aero II.
According to Top Gear, the sexy supercar features a twin-turbo 6.8-liter V8 engine with 1,350 bhp (1,007 kW / 1369 PS). This will likely enable the 2,600lb (1,179kg) UA2 to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds, before topping out at 275 mph (443 km/h). If the latter figure holds up, the Ultimate Aero II will become the world's fastest production vehicle.
As we have previously reported, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport currently holds that title with a top speed of 268 mph (431 km/h). When it accomplished that task, it dethroned the original 256 mph (412 km/h) SSC Ultimate Aero.
More information will be released in the October issue of Top Gear magazine, so stay tuned for details.
