Confirming the recent rumours that have been circulating on the web, General Motors have released the first images and details of the 5-door Chevrolet Cruze hatchback. The show car will be officially unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show on the last day of September.

Although billed as a show car, it's not likely there will be many changes to the exterior design when the model hits production. The model is described to feature a coupe-like roofline to enhance the overall sporty appearance and it is built on a new body-frame integral system (BFI) which results in greater stability and solidarity.

The Chevrolet Cruze hatchback show car has a cargo capacity of nearly 400 liters and will feature 60/40 split rear seating.

GM currently intends to launch the vehicle across Europe in mid-2011 and we can expect the model to reach other markets soon after.
