Get the early scoop on the new Peugeot 508, including a revealing spy shot, inside.
The good folks at Spanish blog 1minutocoches.com snagged a photo of the 2011 Peugeot 508 during a photo shoot in Madrid. The alleged production-ready car was seen with very similar design features to that of the 5 by Peugeot concept from the Geneva Auto Show earlier this year.
From a slightly blurry distance, the taillight shape is slightly different than the concepts and the body-colored element of the cluster is eliminated. The rear window and rear door shape is still very close if not the same to the concept's look. Flares look to also be bulging, but we can not clearly see if this is as pronounced as the concept version.
Look for engines on the car to include a 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol delivering 156 hp (116 kW / 158 PS), as well as a 160-hp (119 kW / 162 PS) 2.0-liter HDi and 3.0-liter 237-hp (177 kW / 240 PS) V6. A hybrid option is also anticipated, combining a 2.0 diesel with an electric motor at the back and a lithium-ion battery. The car is expected to measure in at about 4.8-meters long.
The 2011 Peugeot 508 will hit the market by the end of the year, with UK sales beginning before summer 2011. The hybrid model should go on sale by 2012.
