Ford will be selling a new set of graphics for each of their cars as an option. Pics and the story inside.
Ford F-150 and Ford Mustang customers looking to add some flair to their vehicles will soon be able to purchase optional, vinyl graphics to help spice things up. The automaker will also be offering the "custom graphics" package across many other models, including the Explorer, Focus, Fiesta, Flex, and many other models.
Unfortunately, it looks as though there will not actually be anything "custom" about the graphics. The automaker is offering about 50 different designs for each model, but is not allowing customers to create their own versions.
“Ford knows that customers want a vehicle to be all their own,” said Ford accessories manager Jim Abraham. “The Ford Custom Graphics website complements our strong accessory portfolio and enables customers to put a personal stamp on their vehicle.”
Full-body graphic wraps will also be available, to make the car appear (from a distance) as though it received a new paint job. The removable designs are screened onto 3M Scotchprint, and can be installed at the dealership. The graphics carry their own three-year/36,000 mile warranty.
Pricing has not yet been announced. Eventually, all Ford Models will be available with the designs.
