Bentley has released new details about the craftsmanship that goes into the Mulsanne luxury sedan.
Boasting "classic signature features that have defined Bentleys from the 1920s to the present day," the Mulsanne interior is adorned with mirror-matched wood veneers (which take five weeks to make) in Walnut, Piano Black, Oak, Bird's Eye Maple, Vavona, Olive Ash or Sapelli Pommele. Should the distinctive ‘ring of wood' waistrail fail to impress you, Bentley offers two unique marquetry inlay options: picture framing and crossbanding.
To ensure the seats smell worthy of the £220,000 ($285,000) price tag, the company used a complex tanning process to create "a rich, mature leather aroma." Available in 24 standard color choices (and a variety of heritage colors), the leather can be had in both single-tone and duo-tone combinations.
Elsewhere, Bentley equipped the Mulsanne with an 8-inch multimedia screen, which is covered by a veneered door when not in use, thick carpeting, and stainless steel accents that are polished for 10 hours.
