Fiat is introducing a new, limited edition version of the Fiat 500. In a grotesque overstatement of the obvious, a Fiat PR flak writes that the 500 Pink appeals "mainly to young women," and is being marketed as a, "'must-have' motoring fashion item."
The car is based on the 1.2 Lounge, which uses the 1242 cc engine to get from 0-62 mph in about 13 seconds. The car has a top speed of 99 mph. The limited edition 500 is painted in a purplish pink, and has a black interior. Features on the three-door include start/stop, a sunroof, and leather gear shift knob. A pink key cover, floor mats, and special badging is also added to the kit.
Only 500 units of the Fiat 500 Pink will be produced. The vehicles are already on sale in the UK for £11,700, including taxes and paperwork, a £500 savings compared to buying the equipment separately.
