Essentially a striped down racer, the Veritas weighs just 1,170kg (2579 lbs) thanks to the extensive use of carbon fiber and a complete lack of modern driving aids.

Veritas has announced they will officially unveil their wild £250,000 RS III speedster at the exclusive 2009 Salon Prive Motor Show in London.

Although it looks similar to the fantastic Mercedes-McLaren SLR Sir Sterling Moss Edition, the Veritas RS III is actually a modern interpretation of the classic Veritas racing cars of the 1940's. Essentially a striped down racer, the Veritas weighs just 1,170kg (2579 lbs) thanks to the extensive use of carbon fiber and a complete lack of modern driving aids.

Engine options isnclude BMW's 5.0-liter V10 with 600 hp or BMW's 4.0-liter V8 with 480 hp. When equipped with the V10, the RS III rockets from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds before hitting a top speed of 347 km/h (215 mph). The V8 powered Veritas is a tad slower as it takes 3.6 seconds to hit 100 km/h and its top speed is "just" 329 km/h (204 mph).
