Skoda will use the Geneva Motor Show to complete their GreenLine series of eco-efficient models by introducing the new Octavia GreenLine.

Power comes from a new four-cylinder 1.6-liter TDI engine which produces 77 kW (105 PS) and 250 Nm of torque. Combined fuel consumption is rated at 4.4 liters per 100 kilometer (53.4 mpg) while CO2 emissions come in at 116 g/km. Skoda failed to provide performance figures for the new model but as with most eco-cars, performance takes a back seat to fuel economy.

Skoda went to great lengths in order to maximize the Octavia GreenLine's mileage by reducing weight, equipping it with low rolling resistance ties, and improving the car's aerodynamics. Most of the aerodynamics tweaks occur on the underbody so anyone looking to shout their greenness to fellow drivers will have to make do with a discrete GreenLine badge on the rear trunk.
