Italian prosecutors are still pursuing alleged Ferrari spy and saboteur Nigel Stepney.

It emerged this week that a Modena court closed a chapter of the protracted 2007 'spy saga' by fining four McLaren engineers who pleaded 'nolo contendere' (no contest).

"A line has finally been drawn under this matter," a McLaren spokesman said.

But the case against Briton Stepney, who was sacked by Ferrari, is ongoing, with chief prosecutor Guiseppe Tibis hoping to conclude the case by March, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Tuesday.

Stepney, who now works for the on-board race camera company Gigawave, is accused not only of handing over to McLaren a 780-page Ferrari dossier, but also attempting to sabotage the Italian team's Monaco-bound cars.
