The luxury British SUV named Women’s World Car of the Year.

There’s no question the Jaguar F-Pace is a brilliant car. Many praise it for its entertaining handling, powerful engines, and multifunctional interior, but its design is arguably the most distinctive part of the equation. Given that, it’s no surprise the premium SUV has just been named the Supreme Winner at the 2016 Women’s World Car of the Year Awards. What’s more, the model has also won the Women’s World SUV/Crossover of the Year award.

“The awards of Supreme Winner and Best SUV/Crossover in the 2016 Women’s Car of the Year Awards is a great achievement and a true highlight in the continuing F-Pace success story,” Fiona Pargeter, head of global PR communications for Jaguar Land Rover, commented. “The combination of beautiful design, everyday usability, and unrivalled driving experience set the F-Pace apart from the competition and is attracting new customers to the Jaguar brand worldwide.”

Initially, 17 WCOTY jurors from 14 countries nominated 294 cars, and the list was reduced to a total of 32 models in six different categories. Last year, the Volvo XC90 was named Supreme Winner and best SUV, while the Renault Espace won the Family Car category.

Back to this year's winner, Anna Gallagher, senior launch manager for Jaguar, declared the British team is “very proud of this award as female buyers were at the heart of the F-Pace design from day one.”

Earlier this month, the F-Pace, which was nearly called the F-Space, was selected from the jurors as a finalist in the new Utility category of the 2017 Car of the Year award. The British vehicle will have to beat the Chrysler Pacifica and the Mazda CX-9 crossover in order to add one more award to its name.

The F-Pace is not only the favorite car of women, but also one of the cars that famous soccer coach Jose Mourinho enjoys driving the most. The Portuguese manager of Manchester United also owns a F-Type Coupe, and tested the performance SUV on frozen lake earlier this year.
