Audi dresses the A3 in black. The A3 Black Edition features de-chromed grille, 18-inch alloy wheels in an exclusive dark titanium and tinted side windows.
Black is appropriate for the occasion, don't you think? It is a color that spells humility and keeps us in deference to these troubled times.
So here Audi releases the A3 Black Edition for each of the 3 A3 variants - the 3-door hatchback, 5-door fastback and the cabriolet. The Black Edition, in standard Brilliant Black paint (other paints are optional and cost extra), features goodies such as a de-chromed front grille, 18-inch alloy wheels from the S-line in an exclusive dark titanium finish, and privacy (tinted) glass extended from the B-pillar in the closed top models. For the cabriolet, there is black outlining of the roll bars and shoulder line.
The black theme continues on the interior with high gloss Piano-black inlays, part leather-upholstered sports seats from the S-line, and, well, lots of things in black, such as speaker boxes.
The package costs 905 UK pounds (about 952 euros) and Audi claims it actually costs less than purchasing those options separately with the S-line.
Okay, Audi, we'll bite. Black looks good. But once this global depression is over we're gonna go crazy and wear orange and red and all the colors of the rainbow. And you'd better be ready for that.
