Clocking up 1,500 pre-orders only a month after beginning sales across 56 designated High Performance Nissan dealerships, the first year European allocation for Nissan's famed new GT-R has been sold. But it's the Brits packing the European order books most, our custom accounting for some 950 of the allocation or a somewhat staggering 63 percent of total orders placed.

The news follows the sell-out of 2008 model year GT-Rs in the States, with some 60 percent of the US' 2009 allocation already pre-sold.

European-spec GT-Rs are expected to have minor tweaks including modifications to the steering system and a potentially re-calibrated rear differential, while ahead of owners receiving their cars in spring 2009, a series of events will be offered to familiarise drivers with their new GT-R.
