SsangYong has announced that the popular Project Kahn Rexton that appeared at the British International Motor Show has spawned a production version called the Rexton R-line.
SsangYong has announced that the popular Project Kahn inspired Rexton R-line will be priced from £29,995.
Based on the Rexton 270 SPR, the new model adds more luxury features and an aggressive exterior. Outside the most obvious changes are the massive 22-inch Kahn Design RST alloy wheels which tie in nicely with the lowered sports suspension, in the rear a sports exhaust allows for increased performance. The interior features black nappa leather and Alcantara with red stitching, and special upholstery for the seats, door panels and center console. Ironically for a top of the line model, the Rexton doesn't come with a stereo system as the company insists owners would prefer to install their own high end system.
Under the hood is a more powerful version of the SsangYong 2.7 liter five cylinder turbo diesel engine which now produces 186 PS and 402 Nm torque. Performance is rather modest as 0-62 mph comes in 11.6 seconds and fuel economy is rated at 30.7 mpg in the combined cycle.
