Concept models show off new Chevrolet Performance accessories for the company’s midsizer and new hatchback.

The Camaro and Corvette tend to get all the attention, but that doesn’t mean Chevrolet Performance is ignoring more mainstream vehicles. At the upcoming Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas, Chevy will show off concept versions of the Malibu and Cruze hatchback. Both cars highlight aftermarket components that will be available through dealers in the Chevrolet Accessories catalogue.

Chevy Malibu Blue Line concept

The Chevy Malibu Blue Line concept builds upon versions of the midsize sedan equipped with a 250-horsepower (186 kilowatts), 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine. The car’s 18-inch wheels and upgraded brakes are concepts, but all its other components will soon be offered for sale. Those updates include a suspension kit that lowers the car by 0.4 inch (10 millimeters), new sport pedals, illuminated doorsill plates, a trunklid spoiler, various black badges, a rear diffuser, and new side skirts.

Chevy Cruze RS hatchback Blue Line concept

Chevy is also showing off a Cruze RS hatchback fitted with Blue Line components, some of which will be offered at dealers in the future. A new intake and exhaust are offered for the 1.4-liter turbocharged inline-four engine; Chevy says those parts will be available by the middle of next year. The Cruze Blue Line concept also has upgraded brakes, with enlarged, drilled, and slotted front rotors; that kit will be offered for Cruze sedans and hatchbacks with 16-inch or larger wheels by the end of this year. There’s also a suspension lowering kit that drops the car by 0.4 inch and adds a thicker front anti-roll bar, which is available now. Other upgrades on the RS hatch include a new chrome grille, various satin-graphite interior trim pieces, sport pedals, illuminated doorsills, and 18-inch wheels.
